Our services.
Crisis Response Team.
The core service in every TIP Chapter is the Crisis Response Team. The Crisis Response Team is a group of well-trained citizens that are called by emergency personnel to provide support to emotionally traumatized citizens on a 24-hour 365-day a year basis. TIP responds to the emergency location within 20 minutes of the time called.
The Need Addressed By a Crisis Response Team: Following a traumatic event, the people involved often feel helpless, confused, and in emotional shock. They are confronted with a situation for which they are totally unprepared. Often there is no one available in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to guide the victims through these difficult hours. The TIP responder provides this necessary temporary support until the persons involved in the crisis are able to depend on family, friends, neighbors, and others.
Travel Care.
Travelers Care is a volunteer program designed to support travelers who have been affected by crisis events. When a crisis strikes a traveler, citizen volunteers from Travelers Care respond to help. Volunteers ensure that travelers are supported during a very difficult time in their lives.
TIP 4 Kids.
Children do not receive the support they need immediately following tragic events. The reasons include: Parents are unable to provide support because they are physically or emotionally injured; parents are taken into custody by law enforcement; children don’t express their need for assistance; and emergency responders are preoccupied with the emergency situation.
